Jake and Mason are childhood friends. A year ago, they pooled their money to buy a beat-up Freightliner heavy truck. Jake handled all the driving, maintenance, and overnight runs, while Mason took care of finding cargo and managing the accounts. At the year-end profit distribution, Mason tossed Jake 100,000 in cash, saying, "The truck is mine, the capital came from my dad—you just put in the labor." Jake didn't argue.
